Substitute Notice of Data Breach

Empower Group was subject to a cybersecurity incident.  This Substitute Notice provides information on what happened and what Empower Group is doing about it.

What Happened

On or around April 19, 2026, Empower Group discovered unusual activity on its systems.  Empower Group immediately started investigating and discovered a threat actor had access to the systems.  Upon learning of the access, Empower Group took prompt action to remove the access.

Information Involved

Empower Group primarily handles business funding lead information for third party business lenders.  As such, the majority of the information accessible to the threat actor involved information related to a business, not an individual; however, certain personal information such as name, address, and telephone number may have been accessible.  In limited circumstances, an individual’s Social Security number or date of birth may also have been accessible.

What We Are Doing

Upon detecting the unusual activity, Empower Group promptly took steps to contain the incident, including by resetting passwords.  Empower Group is providing this Substitute Notice for those individuals whose information may have been involved, but for whom Empower Group could not locate valid contact information.

What You Can Do

You should regularly review and monitor your credit history and consumer reports to detect any inaccurate information or unauthorized activity.  If you suspect that you might be a victim of identity theft or fraud, you can obtain a fraud alert or a security freeze through one of the three major consumer reporting agencies listed below.

Information on Obtaining a Free Credit Report

U.S. residents are entitled under U.S. law to one free credit report annually from each of the three major consumer reporting agencies. To order your free credit reports, visit www.annualcreditreport.com or call toll-free (877) 322-8228.
